Ross Curnow at the 2005 Racing Car Show  (4 Feb 05)

Ross was busy juggling roles at the Autosport International Racing Car Show in January. Birmingham’s NEC was the venue for this premier showcase event which caters for all branches of the sport and featured a live link up with Jenson Button at the launch of his new car in Barcelona.

Ross was on duty for much of the week on the BMW stand which displayed a Formula BMW promoting the 2005 championship. Arriving there on the first morning, he was delighted to find that the backdrop for the stand featured a giant photo of him leading the pack at Knockhill last year! With another photo of Ross being used as the top banner on the BMW Motorport website homepage, Ross remarked: “BMW are certainly giving me some good promotion at the moment!”

Elsewhere in the show, another Formula BMW was accompanied by a life-size cut out of Ross - so life like in fact, that it was difficult to tell it from the real thing! This car, together with the formula’s Rookie Champion, were being used to promote the Stars of Tomorrow karting championship and show the career path for karters into single seater racing cars. Ross appeared several times on the Stars of Tomorrow stage to be interviewed about his experiences - so his ‘chat show’ skills are being honed!
