Four
in the frame for karting's big purse (28 Oct 02)
The
finalists for the biggest prize in British karting, the Fairmont
Scholarship, have been announced. They will be vying for the prize
of £10,000 to spend on the 2003 season in the Motorsport
News-backed Champions of the Future series.
Ross
Curnow is one of the four who were selected by representatives
from Motorport News and Karting Magazine.
"We
were looking for a number of attributes in each candidate",
said Allison Lock from Karting Magazine. "Aside from being
competitive on the track, they had to demonstrate good presentation
skills, show enthusiasm for the sport, have a supportive family
and show ambition to succed in motorsport".
Motorsport
News summarised the reasons for Ross's nomination, "Curnow's
positive attitude, both on and off the track, sets him apart from
many of his rivals. His exemplary on-track conduct and ability
to focus on his racing were key factors in the judges' decision.
