Ross Curnow signs with Panther (22 Dec 03)

On 20th December 2003, Ross Curnow signed an agreement with Panther Motorsport to drive for them in the 2004 Formula BMW UK Championship.

Panther Motorsport was formed in August this year to challenge for outright honours in this championship and brings together staff with a background in world championship wins including Le Mans. With such a strong commercial and engineering infrastructure, Panther Motorsport's race engineering capability is unlikely to be rivalled in the Formula BMW paddock.

Speaking after the signing, Ross Curnow said, "I've been very impressed by Panther Motorsport's professionalism and I'm delighted to have secured this drive."

Ross travels to Valencia in January to compete for a BMW scholarship in the knowledge that he now has a place with a front running team. He added, "This is very exciting news and a great way for me to start the New Year."

Team Principal Ian Campbell said, "Ross will bring race winning talent and put the team in a championship winning position from the outset. We have taken delivery of our first car and the whole team is looking forward to starting testing and getting our challenge under way."
