Ross
Curnow - tv star at 16! (12 Apr 04)
BBC
South Today accompanied Ross Curnow and the Panther Motorsport
team to Thruxton for testing prior to the first Formula BMW UK
race there (see separate report). Reporter Tony Husband and his
camera crew shadowed Ross throughout the day and saw him post
fastest Rookie time.
The
film, which was broadcast just before the race, took as its theme
the fact that 'he's not old enough to drive on the road but one of
the leading car manufacturers is paying him to race with the
Formula 1 stars of tomorrow'. Tony Husband described him as 'one
of the brightest prospects in motorsport', adding 'He may be only
16 but he's already on the inside lane to Formula 1'.
It
is hoped that the BBC will do further filming later in the season.
